Entry requirements

Students must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Students should also have the language, literacy and numeracy skills to study at Certificate IV level with reasonable support. It is also a recommendation that interested applicants possess some relevant art or design skills and knowledge prior to entry e.g. drawing or particular art techniques.

Resources required

Students are required to wear covered shoes at all times when working in the studio.

Timetable

This course is delivered full time studies over nine months. Lessons will be delivered face-to-face over four two-week residential blocks. Students are required to complete assessments in own time and required to attend all classes at specific times as indicated on timetables.


Deakin University’s Institute of Koorie Education offers a range of courses by block release study mode.

Students must be eligible to receive Abstudy allowance for travel and accommodation to be funded.
